Dogwood and Fern

The weather in California allows for a quick change of season, so quick that sometimes it's coming to the end before you've noticed that a season has really begun.  The rain that we received in February has helped to produce a spectacular display of spring flowers this year.  I found a wonderful orange climbing rose that has the most amazingly strong, flowery, sweet smell and as soon as I can get into the base to read the tag I'll let you know, but it could be a Spice So Nice or the climbing rose Westerland.  In front of the climber I have a penstemon that is blooming profusely and tucked in there is a grass that will eventually be moved out to show if off in the right of way.  Last I have my redtwig dogwood that has sweet little clusters of flowers out for a spring look.
