Foyle's Friday- Cafe Rouge, Berkeley

I think we were way to early for lunch, but this is one of our favorite spots to go and eat lunch or dinner outside.  If you are looking to challenge yourself by eating local then Cafe Rouge is one restaurant in the east bay that serves all organic meat and vegetables purchased from farmers in Northern California.  The restaurant highlights heritage breeds of organic beef, poultry, pork, and lamb and their meat can even be purchased at the meat counter.  The food is amazing, (truly amazing-to the point where I'll eat off of a stranger's plate if they will let me) and the menu changes every two weeks to compliment what is is season so you'll always see something fresh and new to try.  If you get there early enough you can even get a few bones for the dogs from their meat market.
