Ernie has been reluctant to go on walks lately because he's slowing down a bit and can't quite keep up with the girls so we went on a nice leisurely walk to window shop along 4th Street in Berkeley. First up was a look through The Gardener for heirloom plants, garden tools, original jewelry and gardening ideas. It's a great place to find a gardening tool or gift for a friend. Ernie took a break on one of their chairs above.
Next up was George for a bag full of treats and some attention from some very sweet customers who obliged him with even more goodies. Each basket was begging for attention...oh why do they have the chicken strips so low to the ground? Perfect height for my little man to steal out of and run out the door!
Further down the street is Paper Source so I could do a bit of browsing myself. Ernie picked up a little orange bow to distract a bit from the gray hair that's coming in on his muzzle.
Right next door was Anthropologie where Ernie lounged on a bed for a quick break. I do think he looks very stylish on this duvet cover with his orange bow. As usual he loved all the attention he got from the staff in the store and every dachshund item they had was brought out for viewing!
We ended the afternoon at the ice cream shop Chocolatier Blue who is now serving wonderfully rich cookies as well as ice cream and their famous chocolates. What a perfect way to spend the afternoon with my old man.
