San Francisco Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market

Sometimes you just have to get away and have a day trip without the dogs. Seriously, there is a balance to life and that balance is spending some time with your family without a leash in your hand. Luckily my mom loves our dogs and is always up for a walk but today we decided we needed a trip out to the city and navigating a large crowd with four dogs is almost impossible in the city. Today we took my mom over to San Francisco to go to the Ferry Plaza Farmers’ Market to go shopping and see what delicious homemade food we could bring home for Christmas dinner. The rain gods were nice to us because the clouds parted and the sun came out for the few hours that we were there and after the storms we had last night it was the perfect reprieve!

The best score of the day had to be these incredible biscuits from a little shop called Biscuit Bender. I think we ended up trying every one they had but my favorite was the Double Bacon Maple, but a delicious second was the Cinnamon Bun to satisfy my big sweet tooth. They are thick, moist, dense pieces of buttermilk heaven and I would go back into the city just for these babies.

The market is a wonderful place to pick up artisan food and fresh vegetables and save your appetite and bring a cooler because you will want to stop at every booth and bring home as much as you can carry!
