I think it really pays to be friendly to other dog owners when you are walking your dog because you just never know who you are going to meet at the dog park! (Hi Holly!) We were at the Marina late last fall walking back to our car when we saw this little guy's tail sticking up out of the ground. We knew we had to go over and say "hi" because we don't see that many longhair dachshunds in our hood and besides, who can resist another wiener dog? Well, I'm glad that we did because we now have a new friend and the dachshunds have another longhair to hang out with on the weekends!
This is Baron and he's such a sweetheart and has the strongest scent instinct that I have seen in a long time! This dog can hunt! We had a photography/play date with the hounds and Baron yesterday and I'm happy to say that they all got along so well. Hazel made herself very comfortable in Baron's home (a little too comfortable on all the furniture) and I think Ernie has found a new love in Baron's owner! He followed her everywhere!
So I'm curious to know if you engage with other dog owners when you are at a park or out walking your dogs, or even if you've been asked out on a date because of your dog! Do you set up play dates with other dog owners or are you more of a loner and enjoy the time alone with your dog?
