"I can't hear very well, I can't see very well, but I can sure smell well enough to know you have treats up there!"
This is Black and White Sunday, week 29 for NewfandHound! We are joining You Did What With Your Weiner, My Life In Blog Years and Dachshund Nola for the blog hop. Please see one of their blogs for instructions on how to join.
In design, art, photography, painting, there are certain "rules" or guidelines that make a composition better, more balanced, and overall more pleasing. Keep these in the back of your mind or make a concerted effort to use these guidelines when taking pictures. I found these videos by The Art of Photography on YouTube very helpful to understand these concepts and I'm going to make more effort this week on getting a more balanced photo for next Sunday.
- The Rule of Odds (I use this all the time in landscape design also, forward to 4:15)
- The Rule of Thirds (dividing your scene into sections, some cameras have a grid you can turn on)
- The Rule of Space (balance of the subject and negative space. Great idea of moving the subject's eyes towards the negative space)
