"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt"- Margaret Atwood
It's nice to be able to take a break from the day and just head out to the park with your dogs for a long walk. It's a great way to clear your head and focus on the little things (or dogs) in life and let your mind wander.
Monday night was one of those rare nights where you can see all the way to San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge and the weather was cool enough to keep all the dogs comfortable. It's fun to see the dachshunds running around in the tall grass enjoying the smells of the park and winding their way down all the trails, each one leading to a new adventure for them. Foyle makes it a point to say "hi" to everyone and occasionally joins in on a game of chase, but mainly sticks close to the dachshunds like a big brother making sure they are ok. As for me, I just like to walk in silence and since we are a slow moving group anyway it's more meditative and I can just relax for an hour alone.
In other words, it was the perfect night for a dog walk. What's your perfect walk?
