It's been a while since I've posted a picture for Black and White Sunday so I thought I would jump back in with the gang and show you a picture of this beautiful big boy, Rocky! To learn more about the blog hop jump over to our hosts Sugar the Golden Retriever and Dachshund Nola.
I went up to the NCNC Regional Specialty over the weekend to photograph both Rocky and his big sister Sarah since they were already going to be groomed for the ring and "picture perfect". Seeing all the grooming products out made me think that it would be a great idea to add a touch of shine to any dark colored dogs I am going to photograph to bring out the highlights and add more depth into the fur, especially for black and white photographs. I think I'll add a small spray bottle and towel into my kit for future shoots. My favorites from my show days do an amazing job, can be diluted down, and just a little bit goes a long ways:
- Swishy Coat from Plush Puppy
- Seabreeze Oil from Plush Puppy
- Ice on Ice spray from Chris Christensen (excellent, has sunscreen also, and Newfie people use it before swimming to reduce matting and tangles!)
- Crown Royale Magic Touch Magic Touch Formula 2 spray (can be diluted!)
P.S. I absolutely love Plush Puppy products, they do an incredible job and almost all of the products can be diluted to save you a bit of money. Here's a recipe for the Swishy Coat/Blow Dry Cream which is great on longhaired dachshunds!
