There are a few beaches in the Bay area that you can take your dog out to for a run, but in my opinion Fort Cronkhite over in the Marin headlands has to be one of the best! Sally certainly agreed as you can see in her photos and we spent over an hour walking up and down the beach and letting the dogs run around and play. If you get there early enough then there aren't too many people out and you can pretty much have the run of the beach! Rare these days it seems, but heaven!
These were taken back in June when I was dog sitting two of my friend's dogs this summer. I was anxious to take advantage of the good weather and to let Sally and Chloe as well as my three hounds get some energy out and have a good time. Luckily they all got along and had a blast running up and down the beach, chasing the foam coming off the ocean waves. This beach is notorious though for sharks and although it wasn't the typical time of year that they come through I was on the lookout for a fin popping up out of the water! Never happened, but Shark Week hasn't exactly put that fear of a shark beaching itself to feed off of a dog out of my mind.
So here is Sally on the top left, and Chloe on the top right. Sally has the most human looking eyes and it was mesmerizing to watch her and her facial expressions. Chloe was just a love bug and wanted to be near you or sitting next to you all the time. It's was fun to just watch these two interact because they look so fierce when they play with teeth flashing and "sassy talk" going back and forth, but you realize they are really best friends when you find them snuggling up together or hanging out together on the deck when they are at home. Can't wait to see them again!
