If there is one thing that weekends are for it is waking up early to head out to a local coffee shop like Caffe Strada with the family for a nice relaxing morning with a cup of coffee and an hour of people watching. Call me crazy for getting up so early I love the early morning light and how quiet everything is around the neighborhood, being able to putter around without a schedule, and relaxing for an hour or so to catch up on reading. I would love for every morning to be that way but looking forward to a little treat like this each week makes it so much better!
Since we didn't have much of a schedule for this past weekend we decided to give Caffe Strada in Berkeley a try after reading all the rave reviews about their outdoor patio. So spacious and plenty of tables and benches to chose from, even when there is a bicycle crowd and groups of students heading over to grab a cup before the big Cal Bear game. Plus they allow dogs on the patio and no one seemed to mind while we took pictures and tried out different benches and backgrounds. It was such a nice time that we will definitely be coming back!
One thing I'll have to remember is to either feed the girls early enough so that they'll take a nap before we leave, that way they won't want to fall asleep during the photo shoot! Hazel was thoroughly bored by the end, as you can see on the right, and wanted nothing more to do with me and my camera! She was more interested in either napping or the food being dropped on the ground behind her like a true Dachshund. Stubborn and determined!
Do you have a weekend tradition that you like to do with your dogs? Would you rather get up early and go out, or sleep in with your pet by your side? I'm curious!
