A few weeks ago I went out to Rodeo Beach with a friend and caught this energetic girl playing with her ball in the surf. Bella I believe her name was, was a ball fanatic and really entertained herself by burying the ball and digging it back up. I think it was entertaining for all of us to watch! But I liked the contrast between the white surf and the darker rock which provided a distinct contrast between the top and bottom of the photograph.
For a bit of inspiration this week I thought I would link to one of my favorite dog photographers, Elliot Erwitt, and his books Elliot Erwitt's Dogs, and Dogs Dogs. I like the fact that they seemed to have a purposeful creep into his photographs over the years and shows the intimate connection between humans and their dogs throughout the world. The compositions are so personal and unique, but more because the focus is on the dogs and the humans become a background to the main focal point. (like here and here) Quite a bit to learn just but browsing through the collection!
