Here's my definition of the Beach Boys; two big, beautiful Newfoundland boys frolicking through the waves on the beach at Carmel By The Sea. There is seriously something special about seeing a Newfoundland in his/her natural environment next to the water and to see the joy and anticipation of being able to dive right in and cool their bellies off in the waves! All we needed were some California Girls and our perfect summer day would have been complete!
After the morning session downtown we were all ready to hit the beach and cool off with a dip in the ocean before heading home, so we all ran down the hill (practically rolling) as we were being pulled down toward the water by these two big guys. This was Jobs first time at the beach and both Randy and I were so excited to see him run into the ocean for the first time and to play in the surf with his big brother! Jeter definitely perked up when his bumper came out and he gladly jumped into the waves to fetch his favorite toy over and over again! It's really fun to see Newfoundlands who love the water (yes, there are some that prefer not to swim) get so excited to swim and get soaking wet. It's like you've unleashed their inner spirit and they know exactly what they are supposed to do.
We ended our session with two very happy, very tired dogs but I think I captured some lovely memories for Randy and I can't wait to see these printed and hanging in her home!
